Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 74.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 10.5.

Phenomenal story telling here, definitely captivating there but the rest of the album does nothing to support it. The instrumentation, vocals, and production and very bland. There are no rises or falls here it remains very flat all the way through. Hoping to see more thought put into the production in the future and see something new or captivating. 6/10

Lucy’s third album takes her Bruce Springsteen worship to the next level with the addition to her sonic pallet of Bruce - esqu big bold guitars, keyboards and sound supplementing her trademark acoustic self confessional lyrical narrative

I'll echo the same sentiments. This is Dacus's best record yet. The songwriting is sharper, tighter, and more soulful than before. Love that she's leaning into some more intense moments--both sonically and lyrically. Excellent stuff right here.

Lucy Dacus' strongest album to-date. A beautiful collection of songs reflecting on moments of her past, from the perspective of her past and present simultaneously. Wonderful record.
