Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 2% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 85.8/100, a mean average of 85.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 86.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 11.5.

One of the best tracks on the album. But this was one of four tracks previously issued as singles ( A and B sides). So if you had the singles you were buying them again if you wanted to get the album. It still hurts to this day.

The Beatles’ very first number one single, John wrote this one at his aunt’s house in Liverpool. It was originally written as a slow, bluesy song in the style of Roy Orbison before George Martin persuaded them to rearrange the song. It makes sense that it became such a hit considering how strong the songwriting is and how much of a leap forward this track was overall.

One of their best early tracks. You can't show more energy and fun in less than 2 minutes. Killer song.

This is a way underrated Beatles song. It has just as much energy as "I Wanna Hold Your Hand"; but when you think of it as being about oral sex, it adds a whole other dimension to it. Classic.

It's funny listening to John describe his original version of this song. It sounded like a weak Roy Orbison track. This up-tempo revision was a revelation, though, and perhaps an underappreciated moment in Beatles (and pop music) mythology.

The effort is a lot better on this song. Some of the louder guitar parts are better.
