Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 12% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.7/100, a mean average of 74.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.7.

Solid production and energetic rapping but the British accent in rap is something that my brain has yet to overcome. It just doesn't sound very good to me. I did like this more than I have liked other British rap projects that I've listened to in the past, though. I like the songs included on the end of the album on Spotify more than most of the songs on the first disc.

Like an XXX-era Danny Brown if he was raised on tea and biscuits in a Northampton council estate. And that's not an arbitrary comparison.
When I first listened to Nothing Great About Britain, the yelping raps, bipolar tones and erratic production instantly had me picturing a younger Danny Brown.
But that's not to take anything away from Slowthai who, in his own right, is one of the most unique voices to come out of the British hip-hop/grime scene in quite some time.
Armed with life experience, a cynical political slant and wit sharper than a two-edged knife, slowthai presents listeners with a collection of tracks both attention-demanding and unflinching in its honesty.
Mixing grime's poise with punk's anarchism, Nothing Great About Britain is the perfect antidote for a new generation of young Brits confronting (what seems to be) a poltically and economically grim road ahead.

This year 2019, the British rap has released some hit albums (Little Simz, DAVE ...) but English hip-hop is still less popular than American hip-hop. However, the personalities do not miss, the talent either. But if we exclude Skepta and Stormzy, it's hard to name five MCs that crowd the crowds like Lil Uzi Vert or Kodak Black. But with Slowthai, things may be changing ... His talent, his intelligence, his approach more punk than street and his soul allow him to destroy his competitors. "Nothing Great About Britain", Slowthai's debut album, is full of hits. By cons, if you are extremely attached to the album format, the only problem is that it is a series of singles made for streaming platforms. But this album debut is one of the biggest slap I took in 2019 and Slowthai is really an artist that I will follow in the future.
