Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.5/100, a mean average of 78.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.9.

To act like this has nothing to do with art pop is naive, but I'll admit that looking at this record from a different angle, coming from the hyperpop (I guess that's the electropop corenfro refers to) of Charli XCX, Sophie and PC Music - even though it could as accurately be categorized into baroque pop - this project suddenly proves to be much more influential - I am almost convinced Charli XCX's "7 Years" is a cover of Polachek's "So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings". Anyway, I feel bad for not noticing how good it was first, but without a proper context art is nonsense of course, and the fact that this album didn't explain that context to me instantly and I had to find it elsewhere so that this could make sense, does tell me it might still not be the best album in its genre. And now I'm afraid of overrating it, because maybe I should listen to my contextless self, but perhaps he was just listening to it too superficially. But anyway a 6/10 it ain't.
Sometimes I'm glad I completely ignore the ratings & comments on this site before I listen to any sub genres of pop.
This is a perfectly fine record without the pretentiousness of a St. Vincent or FKA Twigs record because that's not what this is. Electropop gang FOR LIFE
Of the art pop albums this decade, this one does not stand out. It's so toothless compared St. Vincent or Róisín Murphy.
light 8
Very nice album, her voice is really intense and her lyrics are sometimes amazing.
Just an amazing album. One of the more underrated albums on this site. Great vocals and top notch production make this one of the better albums of the year. From start to finish this is pretty amazing. A lot of focus is given to "Door" which is a great song but "Parachute" might be my favorite song here.
