Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)

This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 93.6/100, a mean average of 92.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 93.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 13.1.

Absolute masterpiece. The opening Mellotron notes can arguably go done in history right alongside Chuck Berry’s first 18 seconds of Johnny B. Goode. Never misses a beat. The best Beatles song. Well done John, well done.

Lennon Masterpiece which became one of his most iconic after his tragic death.

Along with A Day in the Life , my two favourite songs of all time. Apparently the ending with the Beatles just making random sounds and banging on drums etc was recorded separately and done as a joke. It was meant to be left off. During mixing they decided to include a bit of it which is why it fades in and out. Magnificent.

I'm not sure I quite see what makes this a Beatles masterpiece yet... it has a good melody, some interesting orchestrations, especially in the 'nothing is real, and nothing to get hung about' bit. But other than that line, which I find really cool sounding, this song doesn't seem a hugely special song to me. I'm sure I'm just missing something though.
