If Illmatic is hip hop's DSOTM, then this is its LZII. Not nearly as meek and mild as people say it is (for it can get casually misogynistic pretty often), but a great album nonetheless.

One of my favorite hip-hop albums. Simultaneously chill and funky, with tons of dope raps to boot. "Scenario" seems almost superhumanly crafted.

It's a masterpiece, but I'd still take Midnight Marauders over this any day.
