How about 2001 and Tago Mago?

Personally I dont see how they relate especially in regards to the 2nd category (rhythm, structure, pacing, emotional or story arc) but I can add it to the user's selections. I can see a bit of correlation between their latter halves but overall 2001 is way slower, too "ambient". Tago Mago is much too congested, wild, volatile, frantic. I would say something like Kusturica's Underground or Gilliam's Brazil or 12 Monkeys, Lang's Metropolis, or even though a bit more contemplative, perhaps Fassbinder's World on a Wire (psychologically, emotionally seems like a similar wavelength; somewhat for arc also even if the pacing is only partially right).

2001 works quite well for Irrlicht especially if one were to just exchange the 1st and 3rd tracks for Irrlicht. If that were the case they would be among the closest selections. Im sure there are other good selections for 2001, perhaps better than Irrlicht, in ambient/electronic/new age type music and probably classical too (Holst's Planets, for instance, comes to mind as an idea though probably too consistently active and too many crescendos?).

Hmmm... Not sure but I will have to revisit The Seer... I'll put it on the 'other user's list' but may move it up (asking self: have I even heard the whole album? I forget... Think )
