The song was written by Willie Nelson but his version didn't come out until 1962. The Patsy Cline version was the first version released, 1961.

Billy Idol was kinda almost over at the dawn of the 80's. Almost. On his album Charmed Life, he played the young lust card with "Cradle Of Love", which was a sizable MTV hit. But also included was a curious cover of The Doors' classic "L.A. Woman". It weas unfortunately recored without his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens. But, in true Billy Idol fashion, it still jumps.
