I hope that its okay to get this kind of chat going. It was announced just a few hours ago that yet another musical legend has gone forward, Glen Frey of the Eagles that is, and so to me a chat to remember those who are not here anymore makes sense.

Sad to hear that Glenn Frey's passing has been confirmed. Seem to be a lot of musicians, actors, artists in their late 60's passing. Sad

Sadly country music lost the legendary Merle Haggard today. This is the first time that I know of someone going forward on their own birthday! I love to hear him sing "Pancho & Lefty" with the red headed stranger! For Merle to go now most definitely stands out for me because his son, Ben, actually placed his stamp of approval on a message that I left for the ACM award show powers that be this past Sunday night over at the Twitter website. I ordered them to learn how to remember our legends because during the show they didn't acknowledge any of the ones in country music that went forward this past year. May Merle's passing make them realize how important it really is to never forget those who paved the road the stars of today are walking on.

God bless you and Merle's family and the remainder of our legends always!!!

Merle Haggard was the total package when it came to country music singers. Been my favorite for a long time.

Geez...very sad to hear of this loss. Merle was so great. I saw him live a few years back and he still was a very lively, likable performer.

For me personally, 2016 has been truly awful, so losing Bowie and Phife and Merle and now Prince is just salt in the wounds
