Earlier today, Rascal Flatts announced that the tour that they do this year will be their farewell tour after being on the radio for the past 20 years now. Go here for the news clip and their tour dates.

I was able to see them back in 2003 when they opened for Kenny Chesney during his Neyland Stadium show in Knoxville, TN. They were awesome. My most favorite song from them is “While You Loved Me”.

God bless you and the guys and Kenny always!!!

Holly

P.S. Am I the only person here who realizes that they never once were given a Grammy award? “Bless The Broken Road” was named Best Country Song, but that award never goes to the singer. The guys were able score four nominations in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category, but currently that may be as far as their Grammy road has taken them. (shrugs)

JOSweetHeart, what's your opinion of Emmylou Harris' music? She might be my favorite country artist, especially 1975-78.

^^^ To be honest, she has never been a favorite of mine. The only song from her that I like is this one.

God bless you and Emmylou always!!!

P.S. The only other clip of her that I watch is this one and its only because my late beautiful precious Steve Sanders of the Oak Ridge Boys is in it and its him who gives her a kiss at the 3:41 mark...a memory I pray that she still remembers because its one that I wish I could have with him.

JOSweetheart,

Do you like Johnny Cash's music?

I like a lot of his stuff, particularly Live At San Quentin and Live At Folsom Prison

And I like him singing Will The Circle Be Unbroken with his late wife June Carter Cash.

I also am an outlaw country type.

Also my wife has convinced me that Keith Urban is a decent guitarist.

I had a buddy say rascal flatts isn't country, it's pop. He was a pretty hardcore country boy. Thoughts?

^^^ To me, the Flatts weren't country all the time, but they were country enough to where I was satisfied. Of course that is just me.

God bless you and the guys always!!!

Townes Van Zandt is pretty much my co-favorite with Emmylou Harris. And I've loved both Bill Callahan country albums I've heard - will have to check out more.

When I was a young child I was obsessed with Bill Staines, a pretty unknown folk/country musician who my parents had a couple tapes from. His voice often sounds very similar to Townes Van Zandt - I did a double take my first time listening to TVZ. Turns out they performed together back in the 70s!

Willie Nelson anyone?

This might not be your typical country, and it grew on me over time:
