Apologies for the downtime yesterday. One of BEA's servers was simply overloaded with traffic and couldn't cope. There are some exciting times ahead for the site, with some great new ideas put forward in the forums, but it's vital that the premium membership scheme is implemented as soon as reasonably possible so that the site can afford to run on better hardware.

It has been a constant battle over the past couple of years to keep the site running on the current platform. Every time there are additional features, more memory is required, and the new features attract extra visitors which causes even more memory to be used.

Many hours of work are carried out behind the scenes every week to optimise memory & CPU usage, but the time doing this could also be spent on developing new features. Bigger servers would provide the platform for new functionality as the site wouldn't be so constrained by the limited hardware resources which are currently holding things back.
