OK, I'll start. I just got a PS2. Finally! There's a lot of stuff I want to play on it! THankfully, we got it for a cheap price. It might not work as well, but it's a PS2 for a cheap price. No controllers, about 15 games. Two call of Duty games, a couple Silent Hill games we plan on selling for the money for controllers, 4 Tony Hawk games (Underground, Wasteland, Pro Skater 3, Pro Skater 4), Gex 2, Gods of War, Wolverine's Revenge, Skuumonkeys, and MGS2. I'm most eager to try Pro Skaters 3 and 4 and MGS2. I'm hoping to find a deal on FF7 as well. I'd also like to play Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, The first two Pro Skaters, and Sly Cooper.

I'm making a list of the best video games I've played (only real qualification is I need to have gotten a little far in it, like playing for an hour or two depending on the content). Sometimes it's hard choosing which is better. Really hard.

Your criteria honestly should be "I have beaten this game" not "casually played it for an hour or two". At least in order to have a veil of being worthwhile as far as my perspective goes.

I know, but I can usually judge a game even without beating it. It just takes a while. I haven't beaten many games, because I have a bad habit of not finishing many. I just play to play, not to beat. Most of the games on my list are games I've gotten vry far in. Here's the top ten so far, mostly Nintendo because I'm adding the Nintendo series' first:

Metroid Prime (beat 4 times)
Zelda OOT (Up to Shadow Temple)
Spnic the Hedgehog 2 (Beat)
Super Mario 64 (Beat a couple times, methinks)
Pokemon Platinum (I think I beat it twice)
Super Mario Galaxy (Beat)
(Need for Speed Underground (90+ out of 117 challenges, I think)
Spyro the Dragon (Last boss was tough back then)
Super Mario 3 (Proud to say I beat it)

I've got a lot of other games to add. There's 49 on my list so far, so wish me luck on making a good list. I know my criteria doesn't fit other people's expectations, but I honestly don't care. Mr. Green

Not to sound like an asshole, but I'm going to have to say "no, you really shouldn't". I mean we can have first impressions based on the first few songs of a record or the first fifteen minutes of a film, but that no means we can really properly judge it as we have not experienced the full impact of the art. I know you don't care, but it infinitely make me lose respect for you and care absolutely nothing for any list regarding one of my favorite hobbies, artforms, and mediums in general.

Not a personal attack, but being blunt.

A video game is different from a film. A film is about watching a story take place, whereas video games have interactive content such as items, gameplay, minigames, and the sort. It's a little easier to judge a video game once I have the gist of it down. Lie I said, depending on the content. There are some games I've but 30-70 hours in, and I'm still not done. One or two hours depends on something short like an arcade game or a game from the 80's. Heck, I must've put days into KOTOR, and I still haven't beaten it. I can still rate it, because the gameplay will be the same throughout. A boss will take three hits, I need to solve this puzzle like I did the last, blah blah. Story is just one part of a game, whereas it's a much larger component of a film.
