- Post subject: Top 10 Twilight Zone Episodes
|
Rod Serling's The Twilight Zone, to me, is one of the epitomes of American Television and Film.
I usually rewatch a bunch of my favorite Twilight Zone Episodes around this time of year, and I wanted to know what other people's favorites were.
1. Time Enough At Last
2. One For The Angels
3. The Shelter
4. Eye of the Beholder
5. The Obsolete Man
6. Five Characters In Search of An Exit
7. The Encounter
8. To Serve Man
9. The Old Man In The Cave
10. Stopover in A Quiet Town

All of them.
For real though, I'm bad with TV episode names, but this is the greatest show ever. I need to pick up the box set.

Time Enough At Last, featuring Burgess Meredith, is my favorite episode. The great ironic ending is just so sad, yet perfect in a way. Eye of the Beholder would probably be #2, followed by To Serve Man at #3.

1. Shadow Play - No one ever picks this episode, but I love it -- very Philip K. Dick
2. The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street
3. Nightmare at 20,000 Feet
4. Walking Distance
5. It's a Good Life
6. Time Enough at Last
7. Eye of the Beholder
8. Living Doll
9. After Hours
10. An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (A preexisting almost silent short French film acquired by the show)

I don't remember the names of them anymore, but my favorite ones are the one where people come from another planet and they have a cook book called How to Cook Humans, but the humans don't find out until it's too late.
And also the one where the little boy makes his own TV shows, and if people don't like it he makes them disappear.

To Serve Man and It's a Good Life.
I only know some of the titles from looking them up or checking out online lists when I was making mine.

And the one where the guy wishes that everybody in the world would die so he could read all the books that he wanted to, but then when everybody's dead he breaks his glasses and there's no one left alive to make him new glasses, so he can't read anymore more books.

Oh, okay. I can't believe you guys know the names of them all.
There's another one about a guy who's really a Martian. I can't remember how it starts out, but all these people are at a restaurant out in the country and they're talking about how a UFO crashed and there's a Martian around. Anyway, at the end one of the customers takes off his coat and he's got three arms.

I don't know the names of most of them, but since I started throwing a list together, I know the names of some of the most famous ones. The first three you mentioned are three of the most famous ones.

Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?
I didn't know the name, but I googled "twilight zone martian" and it came right up. Wikipedia's good for identifying TZ episodes.
