it's the 333rd album of day (only recently started posted them here on the forums, but the entire history is on Facebook/Twitter). I thought I'd add the number to the title of the post, so that if the posts go out of order, it's easier to find the latest one.

This is the second time in the row I was listening to a song from the album of the day before I knew what the album of the day was.. Before I was listening to All Neon Like and then 5 years right before Homogenic was declared AotD, and now I was just in the middle of Teardrop when I went to check BEA.
Oh well anyway I think this is a great album, plenty of highlights. Also on my chart

Interesting, because I think in a way this is where the whole postpunk revival started. It's also interesting if you consider Massive Attack's history, it was a complete change of inspiration after a first LP which was more soul-oriented, and a 2nd that was a little transitory maybe. Here they use more guitars, and what was a reggae influence ("Hymn of the Big Wheel" on Blue Lines) takes a somewhat more dub turn (because of Mad Professor's job on No Protection ? I don't know).

I really liked it on first listen. Haven't gone back to it in a while.

Man, why do you guys keep choosing albums that I hate? I really don't wanna troll, but every time I see the AotD, I have no choice
Oh well. The problem I've always had with trip-hop is that it's too rough AND too synthesized at the same time. Better than dub step, though.
If you want a good trip-hop album that doesn't fall into that trap, I'd highly recommend Sepiamusic's Prototype album. Absolutely amazing.
