The Batman is pretty good, long, but it does a lot of things the Nolan films did and expands on them. More film noir than crime thriller, but instead of jazz they have Nirvana songs instead and somehow really works in its neo-noir sheen. I have my issues with it, but its probably my favorite Batman film yet.

It's great! But they should really have split it into two films. Especially when u tack on the previews. My kids & I were in the theater for three & half hours!

Plus they'd double their revenue from the same movie! Nothing wrong with a really good cliffhanger!

I think it fits better as a single film, its not written in a way that'd benefit from two separate films. You'd have to pad it a lot and add a lot of filler, though I wouldn't have minded something like that, it would've given opportunity to use Vicki Vale as a investigative reporter and other characters to make Gotham even more alive. It is what it is. But yes, people should know its a three hour film.

I'll watch it sometime next month probably. I wasn't really interested in the project before and after the first trailer, despite the Pattison/Matt Reaves combo, but now I'm excited after seeing all the rad reviews. Seriously doubt it's gonna usurp Nolan's second Batman, it's one of my formative movie experiences (and just a really great movie overall), but a noir Batman sounds cool.

I's like Taxi Driver meets Seven! My favorite Batman yet, and I've pretty much loved them all.

Yeah, tonally and cinematically my favorite Batman. Have my problems with it, but visually it is the best yet.

Kimi was the first time in history where a cis actor gave a perfect performance of a trans character

(Okay, other than maybe Karen Black in that one Altman movie)

Count me in as another fan of The Batman. Not sure if it's the best Batman film but it's the most mature. I really dug the crime noir elements. Felt more in the realm of Chinatown or a Fincher film than any comic book film I can think of.

Yep. It's a neo-noir film but instead of jazz we have NIRVANA. Cool

Finally watched it, it was really good! I don't think I'd put it above Nolan's second Batman, but it's not that far either. And it's the best in terms of style, atmosphere and the story. A cool noir, Nirvana was a good fit, Pattinson was excellent, didn't even notice Colin Farrell was Cobblepot until the end credits. John Turturo was the best though, stole the show. The Catwoman subplot, especially their kinda romantic relationship was all over the place, and there were some jokes which did not land at all. The car chase sequence was a bit weird too, still not sure if I liked it, apart from the last part when the car rolls over. Other than that, a fantastic movie.
