Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. Really enjoying this, to the point that it's nervously making me wonder how Vampire Weekend will sound without him. Hopefully they can both have successful careers without the other. I know Rostam is off to a great start here. An endearing and diverse collection of songs that you'll find creeping into your head and staying there with just a couple listens.

A multitude of musical ideas and that's often within each song and yes, the music is as colourful as the cover art, even moreso with a kaleidoscope of different melodies weaving their way in and out of Rostam's richly ornate songs. It sounds like hard work but his pop credentials ensure it's an instant and sweet hit, and I haven't even got around to the ethnic music, Disney choirs, psychedelia and vocoder's whirling around in here. It's a great album.
