Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. Pick out an individual track apart from the singles and they don't rank too highly or in fact make a lot of sense, but listen to the whole thing, for me for the first time in 1984, and it was something totally different. An album I still love to listen to now.....although I don't feel so strongly about their other albums.
