Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 13% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 73.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.0.

It's really nice to know that someone is still making authentic rock music.
A sprawled, White Album-length, genre salad of an album. In a good way, of course. It might be a few songs *too* long though. It'd be hard to pick which songs to turf though because they're all pretty strong. The first half is slightly better than the second half though. His cover of Every 1's a Winner (sic) is indeed a total winner, and the glam-rock moments here are my personal highlights.
Just another solid album by Ty Segall, nothing too groundbreaking. Probably one of his most listenable albums too if you don't mind the length.
Best track: She
awesome jazz fusion. even though it may seem a bit long, it actually isn't when you listen to it entirely. every 1's a winner is one of the best covers of the last few years. fav tracks: every 1's a winner, alta, she and of course and, goodnight
I hear four quarters here: Disco, Singer/Songwriter, Jazz, The Who. All identifiably Ty Segall and all awesome. His best album since Manipulator in my mind.
And he has done it again.
Really digging Ty’s forays into jazz fusion, just like on last year’s self-entitled album. However I still prefer the latter release. That’s not to say that this one isn’t some high-octane, white knuckle, adrenaline pumping shit too. Because it is! It’s yet another moment of freaky garage brilliance for the man. The closer is the standout track, for me, here.
