Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.4/100, a mean average of 73.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.6.

Almost as good as Plowing into the Fields of Love, this is a continuation of that sound rather than a commercialization like some believe. The Day that Music Died should have been a huge radio hit.
My favorite long play of 2018
It's monolithic. A massive, unique sound (punk quartet plus orchestra) that mostly lives up to the ambition of the songs. It feels conceptual too, like a Grand Statement. I love some songs more than others but the good ones are seriously good. Pain Killer is in my Top 10 songs of the year so far.
Not as good as their previous albums but it’s still pretty good.
Fav Track: Catch It (reminds me of The Cure’s ‘Disintegration’)
Their evolution reminds me a lot of The Police. They start off a little rougher, a little wilder, and get a little artier and cerebral with each record. At any rate, Iceage can do no wrong. I love this.
Iceage proves that they are a band to be reckoned with. His voice has gotten much more clearer. There is a lot of great tracks here, but the whole experience is muddled down by an inconsistent tracklist
a wonderful sonic progression from their most previous album. definitely a AOTY contender
