You know, I hate to judge an album by what it could've been, but it bears mentioning that this is an enormous missed opportunity. That said, it's pleasant.
I really wanted to like this album when I heard that it was coming out but damn was it hard to get through. really uninteresting and impossibly hard to relate to or take anything of value from. Ape Shit was kinda fun tho.

I wanted to love this record, I really had the mentality that this would be a concise gem of lovesexmagic, but it's just... ugh. Yes, Bey and Jay supposedly reignited the flame of their marriage, but I'm not really buying into the chemistry of this record. Bey normally sounds really good over a trap beat, especially on her own albums, but she does not come through on Everything Is Love. Additionally, I just don't hear the enthusiasm and emotion from Jay. It just sounds like he's running with the program because he's assuming this will be a hit.
I don't know, nothing sounds genuine on this record. It all sounds so forced just for the sales and I really didn't want to come out feeling this way.

There's some good tracks here, and there is a few tracks that are trying for mainstream trap rap and bey and jay don't fare well in those circumstances. Bey isn't at her highest here, but Jay manages to spit some bars here.

Why is this album called ‘Everything is Love’ and not ‘Culture III’? Beyoncé sounds like a knock-off Quavo throughout this thing. Jay came through tho.
