Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.2/100, a mean average of 78.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.5.

Best Tracks: #1 Must Have, Milkshake N' Honey, Pompeii
Their greatest album to date and right up there at the pinnacle of rock music. Tucker's voice is phenomenal, high registered and throaty "Ballad of a Ladyman" "Milkshake and Honey". The tracks run the gamut from lovely gentle ballads "Leave You Behind" "Swimmer" to 2 minute shots of punk-rock-adrenaline "Youth Decay" "Ironclad". All the riffs are uniquely S-K's and the intertwining of guitars and vocals with fine lyrics demand repeat listening.
I got 7 of Sleater-Kinney's albums in one fell swoop a few years ago and this is the one I always come back to. It has a relentless energy that drives it on until just when you're starting to feel a little punch drunk it wraps you up in the beautifully delicate closer "The Swimmer". I was very surprised it was only ranked as their 5th best on here and none of the songs off it were on the list of their top rated songs. The chorus of the title track really reminds me of Bananarama's Really Sayin' Something to the extent that I can't listen to it without adding Ba Ba Shoobede Wah to the end.
