Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.4/100, a mean average of 72.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.6.

Nice pop album!
Pretty much a knockout pop album for me. Cool 80s vibe, stacks of tunes and quality from start to finish. I can't fault it much tbh and "Want you in my room" is my favourite song of the year thus far. Really good stuff all in all.
I'm kinda torn on this one. Emotion (+Side B) were awesome, so I had high expectacions. The sound is a little different, while still leaning on 80's influences. It's just not THAT catchy and sometimes I wish she would have broken out like in I'll Be Your Girl more often.

There are SO many like her out there. In Sweden three a year competing for joining Eurovision. Fun for days, sometimes even weeks.
In 2011, Carly Rae's "Call Me Maybe" freaked the charts and the world. Canada's freshest pop star reiterates with "Dedicated", her fourth album featuring a romantic disco that deserves more than just one night of listening. The young woman also had a lot of success with the excellent synthpop album "Emotion" in 2015. Her new record - "Dedicated" - could be used as a weapon to conquer the hearts. The new album assumes its sweet pop side with a nonchalance and naivety that fits perfectly in the summer. Progressive, hedonistic and very sensual, Carly's voice acts as a cure for any bad mood. Very good pop album!
7/10
Best track: "Julien"
Was very into it until she decided to resurrect '90s ska on 'I'll Be Your Girl'. Such a strange, jarring, and ultimately silly decision to put a No Doubt tribute smack bang in the middle of an album full of sleek, smouldering, Giorgio Moroder-indebted synthpop. Just why?
Anyway, vast majority of this is dope.

Carly's big-picture album, the tracks are pretty seamlessly woven together making it her most atmospheric and sonically cohesive album to date. So why do I rarely feel elated while listening, or find myself humming any favorite tunes in particular? It's a worthy next-step artistically for Carly that's strong top-to-bottom, but perhaps a sign that consistency with the Jepsen is mad overrated. The heart is in the right place, but Dedicated just doesn't quite stir the emotions enough to be head-over-heels in love with this time. Still lovely, though, just not quite meeting it's perhaps too-high expectations.
Side B struggles slightly, but Side A is fantastic with some of the best songs she's released. It's not wildly different from EMOTION, but it still feels fresh.
Excellent album
