Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.1/100, a mean average of 67.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 18.8.

A mixed bag for me and a weaker effort than Phil's first two albums. There's some great tracks, Inside Out, Take Me Home, Long Long Way From Home being the picks. Too pop-tastic overall for me but it's still played.

This album es enjoyable from start to finish, having good dancing songs, cool ballads and excellent music, maybe too much Pop for the Rockers on this site and i understand it

Peter Gabriel didn't left Genesis because of Phil and that is why i think a lot of people got mad at Collins

I like A lot more Genesis with Peter Gabriel and Phil at Drums

Enjoy Phil Collins, one of the biggest 80s stars

The album I stopped being interested in Phil Collin’s solo work. Too eighties sounding, songs are fluff, and simply has no holding power for me to listen to it from start to finish. Oh it does have Sussudio....huge hit and I hated it and still do!

My first ever job was standing at the entrance to a Big W ( Bundaberg QLD Australia) checking bags and just near where I stood was “ The Music Section “ . Here the selection was truely awful bar one album.. No Jacket Required by Phil Collins. I recall playing this album over and over again to pass the time to very boring job. Every song is etched in my psych . It doesn’t quite make my all time list, but it’s still a terrific album

The music isn't bad, but the production is too 80's for me.

A fun pop album with a couple of excellent cuts in, one more night, and, sussudio, and the rest disposable, but enjoyable.
