Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.4/100, a mean average of 73.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 12.8.

Some occasionally interesting sounds, but not really where I'm at.
Golden Skans is great, great, great, and the rest is bland and unoriginal.

Average dance-punk/indie rock/alternative dance album. Best 10 songs average is 76,2/100 and the album can get average 75/100. There are two only just good songs: "Two receivers" and "Golden skans" both 80/100. All other songs in the average/poor region of 65-75/100.
GOLDEN SKANS

It's just a fun record to play at a party, they have some really good highlights. But where did this band go? They released a second record no one ever realised, and now they are just lost somewhere

This probably gets a 75/100 on the back of Golden Skans alone, because there's not too much else that is above average here.

Uh huh, there's nothing to be taken seriously here but their sense of adventure and fun is to be applauded.

This should've been Bloc Party's follow-up to "Silent Alarm". This is a fun, new-wavey at times, almost dance-punkish at times, party album with some serious undertones ("four horsemen of 2012" anyone?), underscored by two dance floor ravers "golden skans" and "gravity's rainbow".
