Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.8/100, a mean average of 66.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 66.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.0.

(I personally liked this album. Just liked it, as the sound is pretty familiar Indie Rock/Dream Pop with some angular math rock elements at times but rarely. It never breaks through and goes from being a competent indie rock album to being something really great or memorable.)
This album is short, it came and it went, and when I pushed play again it came and went the same way. That sentence is no thing;nothing;etc. But what I guess I mean to say is this is serviceable indie rock with dream pop elements. The whole album is just this pretty indie jam with no really massive standouts, and no bad parts.
The twinkly and active little guitar lines are consistently quite nice, the drums hold down the beat nicely but are far from fantastic, and the vocals are between fine to quite good. The songs are sometimes really really good (namely, "Spiral" is sick, as is the most "mathy" track to my ears, the closer "Unearth") but there isn't that added something, like really cool production details or someone in the band being massively talented to push the songs to another level. Their greatness is capped at, well, never great but consistently really solid. If these folks opened for another more popular indie band I'd be happy they played and I may even go and meet 'em and buy a shirt or vinyl at their stand, but then I think I may forget them quick.
I don't know, this is an album which I'm glad I heard but that I have nothing really sticking out to me to talk about. Its a very familiar sounding band, and they do the sound well.
