Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.3/100, a mean average of 69.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

An austere gothic dream pop folk hybrid of an album that sounds heavenly but has a very sinister undertone that simmers below the surface, ghostly shadows creeping out of lace curtains in a long forgotten love hotel. It’s spectral laughter in a faded pink wallpapered hallway. Dollanganger paints a hauntingly beautiful story of the beginning and subsequent ending of a relationship and the complicated feelings that often come with it.
74/100
"Married in Mount Airy" explores the chaos through deeply resigned testimony. It's as if we feel that there was a life before and everything is gone. A really touching album, good work. However I unfortunately find it hard to be enchanted and that's what I expect from this type of album, I don't know if it's the limitations of the vocals, the melodies or/and the songwriting. Moreover I also find that it lacks variety, especially in the proposals of structures and in the automatisms, which gives the impression that by listening to just the introduction we have the complete summary of the project
Key song : Married in Mount Airy
“Married In Mount Airy” is quiet and bittersweet. The thematic exploration of past unhealthy relationships is quite cohesive. It feels like listening to an old woman go through photo albums in a dilapidated mansion. The instrumentals are minimalist and airy. This both adds and subtracts from the album. On one hand, it contributes to the atmosphere, on the other it becomes so faint that it becomes unnoticeable. Additionally, Dollanganger’s vocals are just a little too sweet for the sound of the album. Respectable but not inescapable.
Musically not bad at all (though a bit one-dimensional), but the vocals make me think of singing Minions.
I Was really surprised by this album. Probably my favorite of the year so far. It was really beautiful
It has a nice atmosphere but there is nothing that sticks out in this album. Had to fight to keep my eyes open.
Some really nice, ethereal elements to this record. The vocal style isn't my favourite but it's an interesting album.
Didn't do it for me sadly, just found the album to be one-dimensional and the vocals too squeaky for my liking

Hauntingly beautiful. Makes me want to listen to Múm again.
