Nacidos de las cenizas de Sanctuary tras la disolución de esta a comienzos de los 90 por las presiones discográficas para que los de Seattle adaptarán su sonido a la nueva corriente alternativa, Nevemore nació para ser una banda aguerrida que en pleno 2000 dio a luz uno de los mejores discos en lo que llevamos de siglo. Practicando una especie de Power Metal a la americana donde tanto el Thrash Metal como los tintes progresivos tienen una influencia brutal. Este disco no se deja amedrentar y se muestra implacable como una pared sónica con buenos momentos de relajación en forma de grandes baladas. No podemos dejar pasar de largo la calidad que tiene Jeff Loomis en el trabajo de guitarra, incorporando por primera vez la guitarra de siete cuerdas, y la producción a cargo de Andy Sneap es impecable.
