Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.2/100, a mean average of 76.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.2.

Weirdness and genius level is 100, but beware to loose your mind! = :(
This is a crazy experience and definitely one of the more strange albums I have heard in a while. The Residents always stand out by themselves as one of the most experimental and unique album makers on the planet. Every record is different and provide a complete rollercoaster of a ride from start to finish. If you aren't into this weird musical tinkering then I completely understand why you may hate this album as this is what holds it back. However, they are very talented musicians and their prowess actually flies under the radar because of how crazy their sound is. They demonstrate it very well on here with their diverse instrumentation which are all performed very well. There are some filler tracks but also there is some quality songs hidden in here as well. Overall, this might not be their best album but it is a journey and one that I very much enjoy embarking on.
This shit is wacky.
@yourself agreed 100%. The Residents are actually some of the most technically skilled musicians the world has ever heard. I strongly suggest checking out The Third Reich & Roll which combines pop music, commercial jingles, sound collage, and much darker musically imagery into something truly unique
Its basically just a silly experimental parody of pop music...but underneath that there is something weirdly sad and moving about the resident's music. Like one moment their are funny squonking noises or something, but then we get some pretty minor key piano playing, or that funny but kinda sad choir at the end of n-er-gee.
I get the sense that they are a lot more musically competent than they often sound.
