I found this record to be a bit disappointing as it played, for me, like a more tame and corporatized version of some earlier work, particularly Rags to Rufus.
Not bad, per se, and ends on what to me is the most interesting part of the record, but I’m only so-so for the record as a whole.

About a third of this is solid, but the rest is uneven and, by the end, downright ponderous.
Chaka Khan's voice is sublime. Very good album
