Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.2/100, a mean average of 70.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.6.

Whilst 1977’s ‘(I’m) Stranded’ is the one they’ll be remembered for their best album is up for debate and ‘Eternally Yours’ is certainly in the conversation
By the time 1978 came around for The Saints much had happened in the proceeding 12 months including relocation from sleepy Brisbane to the UK to critical acclaim, the loss of founding bassist Kym Bradshaw and a whirlwind of concerts and substance abuse. That ‘Eternally Yours’ was released that same year is remarkable in itself but that it should be so darn good and largely such a departure from its predecessor with the inclusion of tempo changes, brass, keys and R&B is even more remarkable
For mine ‘Eternally Yours’ is ultimately let down by a host of fillerish tracks which feel rushed and incomplete such as “No, Your Product”, “Orstalia” and “[Untitled]” through the middle section after the incredible opening salvos of “Know Your Product” / “Lost and Found”and “Memories Are Made of This”
Album three would be much more consistant, but that my friends is a story for another day
