Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 65.3/100, a mean average of 64.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 21.4.

The M&S’s fresh sound is a little jarring at first but beneath the shinny exterior is a decent album for those that ignore the haters and really spend the time to get to know it. This album was an easy selection onto my 2015 best albums list
I hope that they just mix it up moving forward. Maybe their next album can be folk rock as well as alternative rock a combination. I like the banjos as well as the electric guitar.
It was bold for Mumford to change their musical direction, but they pulled through and delivered a masterpiece. The band claims it's one of their best albums yet, and I agree.
No banjo anymore... it becomes a normal band. Great guitars on the first single "Believe".
It's not bad, but it's nothing special either. Kind of like their other albums.
