Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. If you check out anything by Donny Hathaway, choose this live album. Hathaway executes virtuosic renditions of his original songs and covers alike with his unreal Wurlitzer electric piano playing. He's backed by several ace musicians including bassist Willie Weeks, who gets a career-defining bass solo on closing track 'Voices Inside (Everything Is Everything)'. The rapturously enthusiastic audience also heightens the experience of this record. Listen to the Carole King cover 'You've Got a Friend' and listen to how the crowd almost drowns Hathaway out, in near perfect key. I say this about pretty much all of my favorite live albums, but this truly may be one of the greatest live albums of all time. At the very least it's a landmark recording in soul, right up there with James Brown's 'Live at the Apollo' and Sam Cooke's 'Live at the Harlem Square Club, 1963'.
