Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 3% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 79.8/100, a mean average of 80.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 81.7/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 12.3.

A band that, despite earning accolades such as induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, has somehow become extremely underrated over the years. Traffic was extremely important in the early development of psychedelic, jazz fusion, folk, and progressive rock, and their range was excellent—everything from moody psych rockers (Dear Mr. Fantasy) to pop head-bobbers (Feelin' Alright) to slow-burning epics (The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys). A bit of shame that they've been somewhat forgotten.
I expected more from this group after being familiar with Steve Winwood's solo work and reputation. I am a little let down when I listen to their albums. It seems like a lot of pointless noodling with a few decent songs mixed in every once in a while.
Some of the greatest song writing & muscianship you will hear from the late 60's / early 70's. Magical.
