Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 83.0/100, a mean average of 82.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 83.2/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 16.5.

Lonely Sea from 1963 is their best track in career 🥰👍🏻
The Beach Boys are a lot better band than people give them credit for. The general public views them mostly as a surf group, and all the critics lavish the acclaim on Pet Sounds and the single "Good Vibrations", and for good reason. Pet Sounds is their masterpiece and a defining pop/rock album. But they have at least a dozen albums that range from good to great. Their early surf-oriented albums/songs like Surfin' Sufari, Shut Down Vol 2, Surfer Girl, Little Deuce Coup, All Summer Long and Summer Days (And Summer Nights) are really well done pop, defined by gorgeous harmonies inspired by doo wop and R&B. The Beach Boys Today! is basically proto-Pet Sounds. and their later late-60s/early-to-mid-70s output consists of weirder, more eclectic albums like Surf's Up, Holland, Carl and the Passions, Wild Honey, Sunflower and 50/50 that are super interesting and filled with great songs offered up by the other members of the band.
Still, Brian Wilson is a genius.

Favourite album: Pet Sounds
Favourite song: God Only Knows
I would say these guys get a bit too much praise, considering pet sounds was their only classic album. Besides pet sounds, their discography is very inconsistent. Also, Brian Wilson is a genius.
Six years on from the start of my Beach Boys love, I can comfortably say that they are the greatest artists in the history of popular music. Spearheaded by the genius of Brian Wilson, the group recorded the two greatest albums ever made (Pet Sounds and SMiLE) alongside a host of other masterpieces throughout their 60 year career.
I like The Beach Boys the influences much even The Beatles great band.

For people saying The Beach Boys didn't play their own instruments, while yes, at Brian Wilson's peak the Wrecking Crew played most the material (which was more due to the rest of the band being on tour than them not being able to do so), after that The Beach Boys started to play their material. And I do in all honesty consider the 9-album run The Beach Boys had from 1966's Pet Sounds to 1973's Holland the most consistently amazing output by any band ever. It was also not just Brian doing everything. Carl Wilson stepped in as a producer for most of the material from '69 onward, Dennis, Bruce and Carl all wrote some awesome material, and yes, the material by Brian slipping through every so often was breathtaking, too.
