Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 2% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 81.6/100, a mean average of 80.3/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.2/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 16.0.

Interesting
Underrated late 60's - early 70's L.A. band lead by the genius of one Arthur Lee. Mostly known by their "Forever Changes" masterpiece, which is considered one of the best rock albums ever made. In my opinion, it is actually the best. A magnificent mix of folk, rock, pop with overdubbed orchestration and lyrics that articulate its time: "We're all normal and we want our freedom. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom. Freedom... I want my freedom. All of God's children gotta have their freedom."
One absolutely beautiful and creative album, one OK album, and that was all she wrote. I wonder - would Love be a seminal band if they had stuck around longer, or would they have become tired and boring? Either way - look up summer of love in the dictionary, and this band should be there. The ultimate in flower-child music, and great music at that.
DA CAPO and FOREVER CHANGES are the two best albums. (For an extra treat, check out Alice Cooper's cover of "Seven & Seven Is!")
El mejor album de esta banda es sin dudas Forever Changes
