Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. A really good chart full of depth
Nice chart - always like it when albums I have never heard of get into someone's top 100. Gives me something interesting to explore.
Love your chart! Really interesting choices, plenty I haven't heard but plenty in common with my chart. Must check out some of those Spanish and Potuguese artists you have here. Disintegration is definitely worthy of number 1.

Though I have a hard time doing it myself, I love seeing The Cure and The Smiths chart well. Great list!

Ah! Here comes the darkness... I love this goth-y, punk-y chart. Its terrific. Some recs for me to listen to. This is marvellous.
