I've already commented about Jay-Z's ability to flow over the beats, and this album is a prime example of just that. this album was an instant classic when it hit, an album that sounds better and better everytime you listen to it. [First added to this chart: 12/27/2010]

The DJ U-Neek songs are classic, Bizzy is at his fastest, and Flesh is out of jail showing off his vastly underrated talent. does have some filler, but all in all, this album has some of the sickest rap verses ever. [First added to this chart: 12/27/2010]

50's masterpiece. how he fell off so much after this album will never be known, but for a short time 50 was recognized as a great MC, and not just a money hungry no-talent sellout. 50 has an awesome flow in this album and it has almost no filler. [First added to this chart: 12/27/2010]

Again, just my opinion, but the poetic verses throughout this album rival those on Illmatic at times. Nas sounds great as he articulates his ideas with stunning ease and brilliance. [First added to this chart: 12/27/2010]

Jay-Z once upon a time had the public convinced he was about to retire. said to be his last album, The Black Album was a turn to Jay-Z's roots. a raw rap album that expresses a plethora of the legend's personal side, as well as rhymes that still remind us of Jay-Z's days as a hustler. Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

This chart has a Bayesian average rating of 84.1/100, a mean average of 82.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 82.7/100. The standard deviation for this chart is 13.5.

This chart NEEDS Lamar's good kid, M.A.A.D. City. Apart from that, it's pretty good. I really like most of your choices, and I have to agree with you number one pick.
