This is mostly just a personal list of the greatest albums/most essential albums of all time for me. I see other charts on here often limit to only 1 or 2 albums per artist meaning it is effectively a top artists list and not a top albums list, so there are no such limits here. Most albums on here are unique and varied as most artists on here would be hard to box into a genre. So here are my favorite albums, the albums that have influenced me throughout my life, it is very difficult to put numbers to them and they are all quite interchangable.

Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some charts can have several thousand ratings)

Someone loves the 70s... and Iron Maiden.
Lot of good albums. Couple not my cup of tea but that's the joy of music. If we all liked exactly the same, how dull life would be
Maybe the best list I've seen for annoying the neighbours. Have you heard High Tide's "Sea Shanties"? I think you might like it.
