Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Anyway, as much as I like Rift, I'm surprised there's no Picture Of Nectar on this list! I mean... you've even got Lawn Boy on there! Why not?
But all things reconsidered, it's still a good chart, you've got Steely Dan and a few others you enjoy myself.
Also, although I don't agree with The Wall as best Floyd album, I'm glad to see Animals on here; not enough people realize just how good it is.
I'll leave you to your music now, my friend, my friend.
Yours too is a (very) good chart with the exception of Ummagumma
Dude, Viva Los Flapjacks is waaaay better than Pass the Poison.
2 MIchael Franti albums? STOP LYIN... I don't think you own either of those. Although one thing is for certain. ALL THE FREAKY PEOPLE MAKE THE BEAUTY OF THE WORLD. I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin.
