Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 92.4/100, a mean average of 91.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 92.7/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.2.

This might be it, the most important 7 minutes of heavy music ever released.
Toward the end, many of instrumental melodies become as anthemic as any vocal melody in their catalog.
As a metal song, as a jam, as an anti-war elegy, this song is a triumph in all regards.
Came to this late but it's a great track.
The guitar towards the end is some of my favorite music ever created
Aquele peso!
Arguably the definitive Black Sabbath track, built by power riffs, Heavy solos, and politically charged lyrics. Love it.

A metal classic. Still the best Black Sabbath song in my opinion, but I certainly don't agree with some other comments here that this was the 'real' end of the sixties, and, peace and love. The Stones had already done that with their apocalyptic, Gimme shelter, and Hendrix's astonishing version of Dylan's, all along the watchtower, also spoke of a darker time to come, both musically and lyrically, with race riots, the disaster at Altamont, and Vietnam exploding all around them. Still, War pigs, is a great track, absolutely brilliant.
The real end to the 60's right here. This announced that Black Sabbath had nothing to do with peace and love and sunshine and hippies. This is heavy music. War Pigs is genius of a song. Great riff, great lyrics, and Ozzy was just the man to sing it. A perfect storm.

One of the best antiwar songs ever. The lyrics are not shy and the music is incredible. The riff is an instant classic. This is truly an epic for Sabbath.
