My favourite bit is the little transition riff that comes after the choruses: that short chromatic riff, with string bends accompanying the "hey" and "yay".

Forget the hype, the legacy, the impact, the overplaying, Smells Like Teen Spirit is quite simply absolute music perfection. To have had this in my life is frankly a blessing.
Borrowed a van to help a friend move house a few years back. Noticed the previous occupant had left the CD of Nevermind in the player so pressed play.
Thought nothing of it as SLiTS played through, having heard the song a couple of hundred times I guess. You know - just driving along. When the song finished my 6 year old piped up from nowhere, ‘that’s the best song I have ever heard’.
Proud Dad.
