Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some tracks can have several thousand ratings)
This track is rated in the top 1% of all tracks on BestEverAlbums.com. This track has a Bayesian average rating of 94.9/100, a mean average of 93.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 95.0/100. The standard deviation for this track is 12.1.

My favorite song of all time. At the same time, boundlessly epic and emotionally intimate. Those four notes resonate through my spinal column and into my soul.
I truly can’t name any other song in the history of music that has a better album opener. The instrumentals never fail to give my goosebumps all over. This is some of the best musical production you will ever open your ears to.
The best Pink Floyd song, and the best song ever. Nothing compares.
Best song ever ... remains for 200 years
An absolute masterpiece in every way. My favorite song to listen to while high tbh
Fantastic, beautiful song. Great opener and a nice tribute to Syd Barrett.
Uma atmosfera de loucura, sofrimento e compaixão foi criada! Perfeita!
I dare say there is nothing that will ever match the spine-tingling feeling of those ethereal, cosmic, waning guitar notes that pierce through that space soundscape in the first few minutes of the song.
That, right there, that specific moment, is absolute perfection.
The greatest opening track ever.
