I know it’s cliche to say that this is the greatest song ever, but it really is. Musically it’s not the greatest, not even top 10, and it’s not the most innovative song ever, not even on the album (Y’all need to check out The Prophet’s Song) but it’s lasting significance in music history is phenomenal. It’s gets a lot of hate for being overrated, but name another one song that every person on the planet knows. It has no chorus, yet more people know the words to this song then their own national anthem. And you can’t argue with that. So for what reason is it the greatest song of all time? Because it’s made for people, not money, filler, or sales, or popularity. It was made for the people, and that is its meaning. That’s what makes it the greatest song of all time. (Edited)
A brilliant track on an average album. (Edited)
Simply one of the best songs ever written. The vocals, the guitar, the piano, all building up to the crescendo of the last 90 seconds. And topping it off with the lovely piano ending and "Nothing really matters to me". This should have closed the album, really didn't need the God Save The Queen bit afterwards...
