A Rush Of Blood To The Head (studio album) by Coldplay

i absolutely love this album, it’s a masterpiece. It’s the precious stone, it’s the nucleus

Coldplay's masterpiece, they took everything that made Parachutes successful and progressed the sound by going bigger on the production and instrumentation. What it did not lose however is the cold, down to earth feeling when listening to the band. What this album does is emphasise the talent they had at the time.

I do not get the hype that surrounds Coldplay at all. Everything is well produced and sounds very clean but it still feels so dull and lifeless. The two song combo of Daylight and Green Eyes emphasise this so well for me as I reach the end of both of those songs and I just sit there and think is that it. Instrumentally, there isn't anything creative, experimental or exciting on here either and by the end of the release the song style gets extremely repetitive as well. There are just so many more genius musical albums that are out there that deserve to be near the top 100 that could easily take the place of this record. Despite this, I can see why it is loved as they know how to make their songs catchy with The Scientist and Clocks being instantly recognisable to anyone who hears them. However, there isn't enough of that catchiness on this release to elevate this album to a high level. Overall, this is extremely over rated in my opinion and maybe Coldplay's style just isn't for me as this was a tough listen to get through.

I really do love this album and I think many people, that don't really appreciate the other stuff Coldplay has made do so as well. It has a quite unique sound to it, exploring it from start to finish, and that makes it feel like a very perfectly crafted experience.

Coldplay is a hit machine, and this album is proof of that, full of melancholic ballads supported mainly by piano and guitar, with Chris Martin singing to himself, in a desperate attempt to overcome his bad times.

El uso del crescendo en canciones como “Politik”, “Green eyes” y Ámsterdam, le otorga a este A Rush of Blood to the Head, la fuerza suficiente para sostenerse. “Clocks” tiene uno de los mejores intros hechos en piano y "The scientist" es la mas conmovedora de todo el disco, posiblemente las dos pistas mas reconocibles del album, “In my place” es otra joyita digna de mencionar.

Great cross country driving album IMHO.

Solid album

My fourth Coldplay vinyl purchase. Seem to be working my way backwards. Excellent album.

Every note is in key, every drum beat in time, and every lyric presumably dripping with meaning. But my god, what a bland, sanitized record.
