Site update (Browser notifications)
From albummaster on Wednesday 22 October 2025
Another site update has been released today. Trying my best to keep a regular trickle of new features going (working full time on site at time of writing), to try and get as much done as possible prior to the end of year.

The main feature of today's update provides the option for people to receive browser notifications instead of (or in addition to) emails e.g. to be notified of new PMs, forum post replies, chart ratings/comments etc. Notifications are configurable from your profile page (e.g. if you want to receive some via email & others by browser notification/both etc). Further types of notification will be added to the site once this feature has bedded in.

(N.B. If selecting 'browser' or 'both' for your notifications, please make sure to also 'allow' your browser to receive notifications from BEA, and do this for each browser/device that you use )

Quite a few smaller changes have also been made, including:

  • Spotify links now shown towards top of album & track pages
  • Replaced all alerts across the site with nicer versions (part of site modernisation)
  • Artist bestographies now better take into account artist aliases and variations
  • Added link to chart of the day creator on CoTD forum post
  • Draft posts now shown separately (draft posts are quite useful as they help you compose longer posts ahead of time )
  • Tidy up indication of merged history items on admin pages
  • Added ability to filter the BEA member list by country
  • Numerous other minor changes across the site

Enjoy the site and more soon (hoping to get at least three more significant updates released before the end of the year to help bring BEA more up to date 8)).
