Don't shoot the messenger.
Galaxie 500's version of Ceremony is better than that of JD or New Order.
Morrissey is awful and The Smiths were carried by Johnny Marr.
Female vocalists tend to be better than their male counter parts.
On average Indie as a genre has the worst lyrics. They idolise depression and loneliness, yet lack meaningful experience of either.
How influential a record is, has no impact on how good it is.
Sufjan Stevens is the most overrated artist on this site. As far as I can tell he hasn't made a single song worth listening to.
Listening to In The Aeroplane Over The Sea has three stages. Stage one "Wtf is this" Stage two "This album is incredibly moving and its a shame so few see its beauty" Stage three "A total inability to understand how stage two happened."
Pink Floyd released two good albums. Animals, The Wall and Wish You Were Here are not included in that list.
The Kinks were the first and last good Brit Pop band.

Granted, Marr's solo work isn't anything to write home about. Still a grater being dulled on a rock would be more compelling than listening to Morrissey's solo work.
"Tend to" It means, frequently, more often than not. etc
Meaningful experience. Something more than being unpopular at school and feeling sorry for themselves.

Also, The Kinks are bad and they made bad music and they should feel bad.
