- Post subject: March 2009 site update
|
Quite a few changes again this month:
- You are now able to view the top rated charts and bands as well as the top-rated albums.
- You are also now able to view the most commented charts and bands.
- Tidied up the search page and improved the relevancy of search results (as per a suggestion from Elston in the forums.) Searching for bands and tracks now only returns a list of relevant bands or tracks (and not just the albums that they appear on.)
- Fixed an issue with the z-order of the dropdown menus (on IE7, these were sometimes being lost behind other page content)
- Fixed a grammar error across the site with decade links having an apostrophe e.g. 2000's when it should just be 2000s (thanks to ChromeAce for pointing that one out)
- The BestEverAlbums OpenSearch site plugin now auto-suggests albums based on the characters that you enter (a bit like Google's AutoSuggest) (works in Firefox 2+ or IE8+)
- The CSV exports now contain hyperlinks to the relevant album and chart pages on BestEverAlbums.com
- You can now choose whether you want other members to be able to comment on, or rate your chart. If you opt to do this, this will mean that other members cannot comment, rate or add your chart as a favourite (idea from pawelzietek in the forums). If you change this option *after* comments or ratings have already been made, these will now be hidden.
- When adding an album to your chart, the intellisense for the album and band suggestions is now improved and we also fixed a bug where if you tried to add an album for an existing artist that didn't already appear on the site, you would not be given an option to add it.
- Fixed a bug (pointed out by maxxy in the forums) where the decade statistics remarks always related to the current decade.
Thanks to all for the great suggestions and please keep them coming!
More next month...
