Just starting this weekend, people!

Besides the poll question (Who do you think will win), have we got any vested interest in particular teams? The offense laden Dutch? The champion Spanish? Spoiled twat Ronaldo and his Portuguese? The cursed English? Youthful French? Plucky Irish?

Come on you boys in green.Would love to be going over as I've gone to all the home qualifiers, just too expensive Sad I had to choose other though,Ireland are gonna do it Pray But if I was being true to myself I'd have to choose Germany, they have the perfect mixture of creativity, youth and experience that makes them a quality side.As for the rest of the big guns,I think Spain will make it to the final but the absence of David Villa will be too much(he was their top scorer in their two wins).Italy will crash out at the group stages along with Englandand Portugal.Holland and France will get to the semis.
As for Ireland I think the lack of an attacking mentality that served us so well in the qualifying campaign will be our downfall. We will get a result against the Italians and have heroic loses against Croatia and Spain.I think I'm in the minority of Ireland fans who'd choose to play a 4-5-1 formation with McLean and McGeady either side of Shane Long to provide us with some speed on the counter attack as I feel we will need to excel in that area if I'm too be proved wrong.Along with Gibson,Whelan and Andrews in the centre of midfield will also provide us with energetic players to cause the sleek passing styles of Croatia,Spain and Italy a lot of problems.
Can't wait for it,unfortunately music will have to take a back seat when it comes to how I will be spending my leisure time over the next few weeks.

Also RVP for top scorer, the man is a machine.

I've supported Netherlands ever since I was a kid (I would support them even over Australia) and that's not about to stop anytime soon.

But, even though Spain would obviously be the favourites, I think Italy will win.

Will be watching for sure.
Germany, Spain and Netherlands are the obvious favourites, but it could well happen that none of them win. I'm a bit sceptical about the German defensive players, Spain seem flawless, but I just feel that they can't win again. Netherlands... maybe, they seem to always play well as a team, but I do hope they play a more attacking football than on the World Cup. As for the other teams... England won't win, I'm sure (maybe won't even come out of group stages), Portugal won't make it out of the group, Italy... Well you never know with them, but I doubt they will win. I'm hoping either Ireland or Croatia knock them out in group stages. The host nations most likely won't come that far, though I will tip Poland as a possible surprise package. Not the best team, but a home crowd and a "managable" group, should mean that they'll go through to quarterfinals. And then, anything can happen (remember 2004?).

I'm trying not to. The Greeks played such stifling boring football. Shhh They made the Italians seem creative and reckless.

Not much confidence in England here is there? I think this is the least expectation an England team has carried with it for years, which I think will prove to be a good thing. Confident we'll get out of the group stages, the game against France this sunday very important if we want to finish top and avoid Spain in the quarters.

Portugal and Italy the big losers from the group stages, Spain to win.
