Another idea for a game

Another one which had been going around my head for a while. I'm not sure whether to post this here or in the music section. It's a game either way. I'll tell you about it first because I am not sure if it will take off. It could be really popular or fall completely flat. Here it is:

We create a fictional band with fictional people, write a little about them and their age, give them a genre/sound and decide which one plays what. Then like the BEA novel thread, people write what happens for each month after the band forms. The first person starts at Jan 2013, the next will post what happens Feb 2013, the next will post about March 2013 etc etc. The months won't match with the real months and we could be on... say July 2017 by the time May comes. The idea being, like the BEA novel thread, we create a story. As it requires a lot of effort compared to other games we don't have to make it serious at all and it would be practically be encouraged to be ridiculous. Basically it doesn't have to be related in reality at all.

This idea could either potentially create something spectacular or fizzle out completely on the first page.

This thread is seeing if there is any interest in such an idea. Also for suggestions and questions before it is started.

Like the Bea novel thread the thing will be in 3rd person but will have a wikipedia narrative vibe rather than one from a story or novel.

Any takers?

You are OK having started in the Games thread but I suspect it might be OK to have a publicity/head-up thread on the music forum.

Sounds promising Everyone who commented liked the idea.

Should I make the base members and then people add things about them as we go along or should we make a few each? Problem with the first idea is it might give a little too much creative direction to me while the other idea serves as a first come first servered basis.

How much do we want. I prefer 4 piece bands but I think 5 would be a nice number to start with.

As this is not completely based in reality you can take liberty to add refuge in audacity, supernatural events, meeting famous people and other outrageous events.

Also the band members are only limited by creativity. While there is nothing wrong with such bands in real life, it would be a shame if all 5 members are white herterosexual guys between the ages of 18-24.

Like the BEA Novel thread again, you'll also have to accept your/are creations will be wrote about in future by people who haven't viewed this thread yet.

So who's doing a character? Want to do one each on first come first served basis? Just write their name, age instrument and I suppose between two lines and a paragraph on other info about them. Add any details if important as well.

Feel free to give other ideas and suggestions, see if we can flesh the thing out.

@Robert Anton Wilson above message - sounds like a good idea. I'll mention it on the music forum before it begins. I think a few days planning would be good first though.
