Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.4/100, a mean average of 71.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.8.

Very 67. Some guitar solos and their sound are stunning for the period. Need perhaps some more digging to be fully understood.
I'm surprised this isn't at least a little more well known. It's a really solid, satirical take on the current state of rock at the time. It's like a cross between Frank Zappa and The Fugs. Given how obscure the album is, I'm also surprised at how good it sounds. The whole album culminates in "Deviation Street" which really gets right to the essence of what it is that I think The Deviants are trying to do.
Imagine a heavier, more primal Stones mixed with Freak Out era Zappa and your getting warm. Incredible proto-punk album. The sound of MC5's debut was right around the corner.
This is a "forgotten" gem of an album. One of the leading figures of the counter culture scene in London during the mid to late 1960s, Mick Farren also wrote and conceived a proto-punk/psychedelic sound that was way ahead of its time and still sounds fresh today.
